Guest Post Requirements

After receiving quite a few enquiries as to whether we accept guest posts or not we have decided to give it a go and see what happens. To expedite the process, below are some guidelines to help you in preparing your post for submission.

General requirements

All posts must be unique original content not published elsewhere, they must be written in clear English and be relevant to the food related theme of the site.

Images

All posts must have at least one but preferably more good quality images with them. If not taken by you, you must have permission to publish them and fully attribute them to their owner. All images on the site will need to be cropped to a square and be a minimum size of 500px x 500px.

Articles

If you would like to submit an article, please try to make them at least 500 words in length. Each article must have at least one good quality relevant image but would preferably have one relevant image per 200 words or so.

Subjects are pretty open so long as they are food related and could include things like an interesting ingredient profile, a useful cooking technique or for the more adventurous, even a series of posts on a specific place you’ve visited. As long as there is a food angle, we will consider it.

Recipes

This is where we spend the majority of our time on the site, making up and publishing recipes. If you’d like to send us a recipe that you love to cook, by all means do. To be published it will require a short introductory paragraph explaining a bit about the recipe, an ingredient list with the measurements in metric and a clearly written set of steps explaining how to make the dish.

Each recipe will require a minimum of one good quality image of the dish that you have cooked that makes it look appealing and will help make people want to try it out for themselves. Again though, it would be preferable to have one image of each step in the recipe + the headline image.

Links within Post

Generally we will allow relevant links within the body of the post, just don’t go overboard and no, this does not include affiliate links.

By-line

Here you can say a bit about yourself but please try to keep it to one or two sentences with a maximum of two links.
