Ingredients
3 ¼ cups dry red wine
½ cup of brandy
Juice of 1 orange
Juice of 1 lemon
2 tbsp Icing Sugar
Club Soda to taste
1 orange
1 lemon
½ apple
Directions
Slice your fruit. The slices should be 2 - 3 mm thick.
Mix the icing sugar and the brandy together in a large bowl until the sugar has dissolved.
Add the wine to the brandy mixture and combine well. Then add the orange and lemon juices.
Finally add, the orange, lemon and apple slices before leaving the sangria to chill for at least 4 hours but preferably overnight.
To finish off, when serving the sangria, top it up with a little bit of Club Soda to give it a little fizz. You don’t have to do this but we like it.
Enjoy!
This is only one possible basic recipe there are many others to try. Some suggestions, why not trying to add strawberries, peaches or maybe add a little bit of port or Cointreau?
